One of WooNotif’s most powerful features is the ability to use real WooCommerce orders as a source for notifications. This allows you to showcase actual sales data, build trust with visitors, and create a sense of urgency (FOMO) to encourage purchases.
How to Enable Real WooCommerce Orders
To use this feature, go to the Source section and enable the WooCommerce Real Orders option. Once activated, WooNotif will pull real order data from your WooCommerce store to display in relevant notifications.
This option is ideal for notifications that rely on order data, such as:
- Order Counter (total number of orders)
- First Name / Last Name (customer names)
- Order City (customer location)
- And other order-related information.
Key Settings for Real WooCommerce Orders
- Orders from the Last [Input] Days
This setting allows you to define how many days back WooNotif should fetch orders.- For stores with high daily sales (e.g., more than 30 orders per day), set this to 1 day for optimal performance.
- For stores with fewer sales, you can use a larger number. Ensure the total number of orders within the selected range does not exceed 100 orders to maintain performance.
- Display Duplicate Orders
This option determines whether duplicate orders should be displayed if real orders are insufficient to meet your notification count.- If enabled: For example, if 5 notifications are set but only 3 orders exist, the remaining 2 will duplicate from the existing ones.
- If disabled: No duplicate orders will be displayed, limiting the notifications to available orders.
- Show Only the First Letter of the Last Name
For privacy, this option displays only the first letter of the customer’s last name in notifications. For example, “John D.” instead of “John Doe.”
How Orders Appear in Notifications
- Notifications are displayed randomly from the pool of orders.
- The displayed information depends on the tags used in the notification content, such as:
{first_name}
{city}
{product_name}
For instance:
- A notification with
{first_name} from {city} just purchased {product_name}!
might display as:- “John from New York just purchased Wireless Headphones!”
Practical Recommendations
- Manage Order Volume:
If your store has high daily sales, use shorter time frames (e.g., 1 day) to ensure recent and relevant orders are displayed. - Use General Tags for Privacy:
To maintain customer privacy, you can use generic tags or text instead of revealing customer details. For example:- Someone just purchased {product_name}! Don’t miss out!
- Disable Duplicates for Better User Experience:
If duplicates don’t align with your brand’s messaging, turn off the Display Duplicate Orders option for unique notifications.
Important Notes
- Performance Impact:
This feature is optimized for performance. However, if your store processes more than 50 orders daily and you set the order range to 15 days or more, it may add some server load. Ensure the total number of orders fetched doesn’t exceed 100 orders in the selected range. - Compatibility with Fake Notifications:
Real and fake notifications cannot be enabled simultaneously within the same notification. They must be configured separately. - Availability:
This feature is available to all WooNotif users, both free and Pro.
Conclusion
Using real WooCommerce orders as a notification source is a powerful way to boost customer trust and improve conversions. With flexible settings and customization options, you can create notifications that feel authentic and add value to your visitors’ experience.
