Overview

An interactive advent calendar for your site: one door to open each day of December, with a coupon code, a product or a surprise inside. Gives visitors a reason to come back every day.

Installation

1. Download advently-advent-calendar.zip from My account › My plugins or from your order email. Do not unzip it.
2. In WordPress, go to Plugins › Add New Plugin › Upload Plugin, choose the zip and click Install Now, then Activate.
3. Go to Advent calendar, set the first day and fill in the doors.
4. Add [advently] to a page and link it from your menu or announcement bar.

Requires WordPress 6.0+, PHP 7.4+, WooCommerce 7.0+. Works with any theme, block themes and page builders.

Features

• 1 to 31 doors, starting on the date you choose (24 doors from 1 December by default)
• Doors open at midnight in your site time zone
• Door contents are never in the page source before their day: nothing to spoil, and the page stays cacheable
• Each door: title, message, coupon code with a copy button, WooCommerce product, link and button
• Coupon codes valid from their day, or only on their day, even if a code leaks early
• Today's door glows; opened doors stay open for the visitor
• Three designs (winter night, Christmas red, snow), your accent color, optional light snowfall
• Doors mixed like a real calendar, or in order
• Preview before launch, for administrators only or for everyone as a teaser
• Shortcode [advently] and an "Advent calendar" block

Updates

Updates are free. When a new version is out, it appears in Dashboard › Updates of your WordPress site and you can install it in one click, or turn on automatic updates in Plugins. This works for the zip downloaded from your Woo-Plugins account; older copies can be replaced by downloading the latest version from My plugins. See the changelog.
