Overview

Customers add photos to their product reviews. Your product pages get a rating summary with clickable star bars, a customer photo gallery and a lightbox, and you can show a wall of photo reviews anywhere.

  • Customer photos make your products believable
  • Rating summary answers “is it good?” at a glance
  • A photo review wall for your home page

Best for: Fashion, home, beauty and gift stores

Installation

  1. Download reviewly-photo-reviews.zip from My account › My plugins or from your order email. Do not unzip it.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins › Add New Plugin › Upload Plugin, choose the zip and click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Open a product page: the review form now has a photo field.

Requires WordPress 6.0+, PHP 7.4+, WooCommerce 7.0+. Works with any theme, block themes and page builders.

Features

  • Photo upload in the review form: up to 10 photos per review, JPG, PNG or WebP, size limit, live preview
  • Photos shown under each review, with a lightbox (keyboard and touch friendly)
  • Rating summary above the reviews: average, number of reviews and one bar per star rating
  • Click a star bar to show only those reviews
  • "Customer photos" gallery and a "Reviews with photos" filter
  • [reviewly_wall] shortcode: a wall of the latest photo reviews for your home page or a testimonials page
  • Photos follow WooCommerce moderation: shown only once the review is approved, visible in Products › Reviews
  • Photos deleted with their review
  • Files checked by type and content, stored in your media library
  • Lightweight: no jQuery on the front end, no external service, no tracking
  • Translation-ready

Shortcodes

Paste a shortcode in any page, post, widget or page builder text block.

  • [reviewly_wall]

Options of each shortcode are described in the Features above and in the plugin settings page.

For developers

Customize the plugin from your theme’s functions.php or a small plugin, without editing its files (your changes survive updates).

Filters

  • reviewly_allow_photos
add_filter( 'reviewly_allow_photos', function ( $value ) {
	// Change $value here.
	return $value;
}, 10, 1 );

Updates

Updates are free. When a new version is out, it appears in Dashboard › Updates of your WordPress site and you can install it in one click, or turn on automatic updates in Plugins. This works for the zip downloaded from your Woo-Plugins account; older copies can be replaced by downloading the latest version from My plugins. See the changelog.
