During Black Friday, shoppers browse fast and compare many stores. Your deals must be visible in a glance, directly on product images. Badges do exactly that, as long as they stay clear and honest.
Show the real discount
“-30%” on the product image is the most important badge of the weekend. Make sure it is calculated from your real sale prices and disappears when the sale ends. With scheduled sale prices (see how to schedule a sale), badges switch on and off automatically.
Highlight what matters for this event
- Bundles and gift sets: a “Gift set” badge on a dedicated category.
- Limited stock: “Only 5 left” from real inventory.
- Bestsellers: help undecided shoppers choose quickly.
- Exclusive: products only available during the event.
Keep the grid readable
When everything is on sale, a discount badge on every product adds little. Prefer a site-wide announcement bar for the general offer, and use badges for the best discounts, stock levels and gift sets. Limit to two badges per product.
After the event
Remove event-specific badges, check that discount badges disappeared with the sale prices, and keep “Bestseller” badges updated with the new sales data.
