Black Friday: 30% off all plugins from 24 Nov · Join the list for early access →

Since 2022, the EU Omnibus directive changes how stores announce price reductions. When you show a discount, the reference price must be the lowest price you applied during the 30 days before it.

What it means in practice

A product sold 45 €, briefly at 39 € three weeks ago, then discounted to 35 €: the price to show next to the promotion is 39 €, not 45 €.

What to display

Each country transposed the directive with its own details (exceptions for perishable goods, progressive reductions…). Check the rules that apply to you.

Why a price history is needed

WooCommerce only knows the current regular and sale prices. To know the lowest price of the last 30 days, every change must be recorded.

Black Friday and the Omnibus rule

Raising prices before Black Friday to announce a bigger discount does not work anymore: the reference is the lowest recent price.

Omnily records every price change and shows the lowest price of the 30 days before each discount, automatically. See the history on the demo.
