Click & Collect lets customers order online and pick up in your shop. They save the delivery cost and get their order sooner; you save packaging and shipping, and often sell one more thing at the counter.
1. Decide where
List your pickup locations with a clear name and the full address. Several shops? Each one becomes a pickup option at checkout.
2. Decide when
- Opening hours per day: pickups only happen when someone is there.
- Preparation time: 2 hours for a shop with stock on hand, 24 hours if you prepare to order.
- Closed days: holidays and inventory days.
3. Use time slots
Without slots, customers arrive all at once on Saturday at 11 am. With slots of 30 minutes or 1 hour, and a limit of orders per slot, the flow stays manageable. Full slots should be visible but crossed out.
4. Make it clear at checkout
- A free pickup option next to delivery, with the shop name.
- A day and time picker that works on mobile.
- A confirmation with the address and the time slot, in the email too.
5. Hand over smoothly
- Prepare orders by pickup time, oldest first.
- Email the customer when the order is ready.
- Ask for the order number at the counter, mark the order as collected.

The plugin
Pickly adds a Click & Collect shipping method with your locations, opening hours, preparation time, closed days and time slots with a limit of orders per slot, plus an “orders to prepare” page. Choose a slot on the demo.
