Black Friday: 30% off all plugins from 24 Nov · Join the list for early access →

From November to December, many orders are gifts. A gift wrap option and a gift message field make your store the easy choice. Here is what matters when choosing a plugin. Background: how to offer gift wrapping in WooCommerce.

1. Block checkout support

Recent WooCommerce stores use the Cart and Checkout blocks. Many older gift plugins only support the classic checkout: check this first.

2. Flexible pricing

A paid option (2 to 5 € is common) or free gift wrapping, set once for the whole order.

3. A visible line in the order

Gift wrap should appear as its own line, in the order screen, invoices and reports, so nobody forgets it when packing.

4. The gift message where you need it

In the order admin screen, the order emails and the confirmation page, with a maximum length that fits on a card.

5. Smart conditions

Offered only when the cart contains physical products, and removed if nothing is left to wrap.

6. Clean front end

One checkbox in the cart and at checkout, with a short description. No heavy popups.

Both work; paid wrapping covers costs, free wrapping is a strong holiday argument.

In the order screen, order emails and confirmation page.

Does it work with the block checkout?
